THE MEANING
In some languages, “Kasa” translates to “house” or “home,” emphasizing shelter and family. In Japanese, “Kasa” means “umbrella,” symbolizing protection or shelter.
“Kita” (北) means “north,” referring to direction and location.
The name came with the house when it was purchased, and was kept to honour the meaning and tradition. We invite you to find your shelter here, protected from the elements but close to nature.

The LOCATION
Myoko Kogen is steeped in history, known as one of Japan's oldest ski areas. Founded in the 1930s, it has welcomed travelers for decades, seeking both the thrill of the slopes and the healing properties of its ancient onsens (hot springs).
The area retains a traditional Japanese charm that many modern resorts have lost. Walking through the village, you can feel the echoes of the past, from historic shrines to family-run izakayas that have served patrons for generations.
